Ansgar Vogt studied German Philology, Theatre Studies and Theatre Directing at the Humboldt University of Berlin and at Goldsmiths College, University of London, before graduating as a Fulbright scholarship holder from the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He spent several years working as a dramaturge and screenplay developer for the German production companies Moovie and UFA Cinema. He was a member of the selection committee at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Forum section for 15 years. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Curator/Head of Programming for the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias in Cartagena, Colombia, which is the oldest and one of the largest film festivals in Latin America.
