Lorenz Tröbinger was born 25.07.1992 in Linz, Austria. From 2012 to 2016 he studied Theatre-, Film- and Media studies - Bachelor of Arts at the University of Vienna. In 2017 and 2018 he attended a one-year exchange program at the Fine Art Department at Central Saint Martins College, London. From 2014 to 2020 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Department of Fine Arts and Digital Media - Magister Artium degree. In 2018 he received the Script Lab / Treatment development grant from the Screenwriting Forum Vienna for the feature-length project Yamantau and, for the same feature-length project, in 2019 he obtained the Script development grant from the Austrian Film Institute. Finally, with the project "Son" in 2020, he received the „Start-fellowship“ from the Austrian Ministry of Culture.
