Matthias Lintner was born in South Tyrol, Italy in 1987, where he studied Graphic Design. He spent the following years working in various roles, including as a photographer, actor, teacher for students from migrant families, support worker for people with disabilities and a city guide in the tourism sector. In 2008, he started studying Directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). His first feature film, which portrays an (almost) abandoned housing complex in the Berlin Mitte district and its quirky residents, was released in 2019 and successfully ran at various international festivals such as CPH:DOX, New Horizons and Sheffield Doc/Fest.
