At the beginning of his career, Paolo Girelli made shorts and documentaries while as working for the first Italian cable television station. He made his debut with the feature film Dietro la pianura (written and directed with Gerardo Fontana). Later, he worked as a script editor and head writer on TV series and soap operas, such as Vivere and Centovetrine. He is a co-creator of the TV series Tuscan Passion. In 2016, he was sponsored by the Seoul Film Commission to develop a prime-time drama concept that could blend the most popular Asian cultural topics with a “made in Italy” feel. In January 2017, Paolo co-developed the concept of the popular period drama TV series Il paradiso delle signore, produced by Aurora TV (Banijay Group) for Rai 1, becoming its head writer in June. The series is still ongoing.
